Mental health can impact people regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexuality, or religion. I have always had the passion to work in this field because like many others, therapy has been a profound resource throughout my life for both myself and my family. I originally became a therapist because I saw a system that wasn't always filled with genuine or empathetic people, nor a world without constant judgement, so I wanted to dedicate my career to providing what I thought was necessary for healing; genuine honesty, compassion, no judgement, and a little sarcasm.
The therapeutic journey can be a time of healing, empowerment, and growth. These are all things that I try to help clients work toward in the therapy process. While therapy can be rewarding, it can also be challenging as you work through some difficult memories, experiences, or life transitions. One of my favorite parts of my job is being able to walk with you through these times by helping guide you toward resiliency and change, through hard work on your innermost self. Through the Restoration Therapy Model, we can help build trust in not only other people but within ourselves and be able to cultivate healthy relationships and a happier, healthier life.
Education and Training:
I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (I.1901837-SUP). I completed my Bachelor's Degree at Buffalo State College in Psychology and my Graduate Degree at the University at Buffalo in Social Work. Prior to joining the practice, I completed my graduate fellowship at the VA hospital in Buffalo, New York, working in both the HUD-VASH program and the Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Center (PRRC) program. I have also worked in community mental health as a mental health and substance abuse counselor and program supervisor of both adult and child mental health clinics. After moving to Ohio in 2019, I worked for a group practice as both a clinical therapist and clinical director. Throughout my career, I have helped clients from the ages of 9-85 years young. I am passionate about working with anyone struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions, perinatal/postpartum struggles, or just having a hard time in life. I am Restoration Therapy Level 1 Certified. I am also trained in EMDR, DBT, and CBT models.
My Interests:
Originally from Buffalo, NY, I enjoy all things Buffalo Bills, good food, and community. I enjoy spending time with my husband and children, reading mysteries, and visiting Disney as often as I can!
